About the Training Event
Your engagement letter should do more than define services and protect your practice. It should reflect the value of the relationship you have built with your client. As services expand and technology changes how work is performed, the agreement you started with may no longer reflect what your practice actually does or what that work is worth.
In this webinar, we'll explore how to use the engagement and renewal process to reconnect scope and pricing with the value your practice provides. You'll learn ways to keep that value front and center during the sales process, whether it comes from tax savings, penalties avoided, time returned to the client, better information for decision making, or simply taking work and worry off the client's plate.
We'll also examine recent IRS and AICPA guidance related to AI and data security, along with evolving professional liability considerations. We'll address scope and nature creep and how engagement language can keep the agreement aligned as the client relationship changes.
You'll leave with a practical approach to engagement letters that better represents the work your practice performs and the value your clients receive.
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify recent IRS, AICPA, and professional liability developments that should be considered when reviewing engagement letters.
- Evaluate engagement terms related to AI use, cybersecurity, client responsibilities, and changes in the nature or scope of services.
- Apply an engagement renewal process that connects scope and pricing to measurable client value and identifies opportunities for additional services.
